Regional HR Manager
As the Regional HR Manager for West Tech Shipping, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and overseeing human resources functions across eleven (11) countries in the Caribbean and South America. This position involves taking charge of the full spectrum of HR operations, from recruitment and talent management to employee relations and compliance with regional labour laws.
As the linchpin of our HR strategy, you will be instrumental in fostering a positive work environment that aligns with our company values and enhances employee engagement and satisfaction. Your expertise and leadership will contribute significantly to the growth and success of our organization, ensuring that our workforce is not only compliant but also motivated and empowered to achieve their fullest potential.
JOB DUTIES
Strategic HR Planning:
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company's objectives.
- Provide Strategic Human Resource advice to the Managing Director.
Compliance:
- Maintain and Communicate Company Policies and Procedures
- Ensure compliance with local labour laws and regulations across all countries.
- Keep abreast of changes in labour legislation and update HR policies accordingly.
- Liaise with Representatives from the Department of labour across all countries.
Talent Acquisition:
- Manage and co-ordinate the end-to-end recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding using the company’s recruitment platform.
- Collaborate with Regional and Country Managers to identify staffing needs and address skill gaps.
HR Platform Management
- Manage and maintain Company's Human Resource Database / System
- Ensure that platforms are operating effectively and in accordance with organizational needs.
- Regularly update and maintain employee data within HR platforms to reflect the latest information accurately.
- Provide support to HR users and employees in navigating HR platforms.
Employee Relations:
- Skilled in managing complex employee relations issues, with a focus on conflict resolution and fostering positive work environment.
- Mediate and resolve conflicts, ensuring fair and consistent treatment of employees.
- Plan & coordinate team morale events.
- Ensure that Staff Morale across the Company is at a High Level.
- Performance Management:
- manage performance appraisal systems.
- manage disciplinary and termination processes.
- work with managers to set performance goals and provide constructive feedback.
Benefits Administration:
- Co-ordinate employee vacations and other benefits
- Administer employee benefits programs, ensuring competitive offerings.
- Address employee inquiries and facilitate benefits enrollment processes.
HR Metrics and Reporting
- Develop and analyze HR metrics to assess the effectiveness of HR initiatives.
- Prepare regular reports for the Managing Director on HR activities and trends.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure HR support aligns with operational needs.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resource Management.
- Proven experience as an HR manager.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in human resource management, with at least 3 years in a leadership or regional role.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a diverse HR team.
- Strong knowledge of Caribbean labour laws and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organization skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, HRCI) is a plus.
